A closer look at Kohatu
Considered for your space
Shown at 1100 mm wide × 320 mm deep × 800 mm high, Kohatu is a slim hall table for an entrance or hallway, with room for a favourite ceramic, a lamp or the things you reach for each day. Width, depth, height and timber can be tailored to your room.
A hand carved signature
The carved inlay carries the character of the wider Kohatu family. Small gouge cuts build up its texture, while contrasting splines mark the mitred corners.
Made by me, from start to finish
I make each piece in Kerikeri, working through the design, timber selection, joinery and finish. We’ll discuss the details before making begins.
The story behind Kohatu
As part of my Kohatu line, this console brings texture and careful joinery to the entrance of your home. A unique piece of New Zealand craft, it offers a place for the objects you choose to live with.
I source the majority of my timbers from farms around the country. I blend this emphasis on the local with a hand tool approach. The inlay is carved by hand, with each small cut contributing to the surface.
The result is a piece sized to fit your space that feels warm and inviting from the moment you come home.
The same detailing runs through the Kohatu Vinyl Record Unit and Kohatu Desk & Drawers.
Let’s talk about your Kohatu.
