Description
Solid walnut, carefully selected for its grain and warmth, and joined with simple, time tested techniques. This keepsake box is designed to hold the small things that matter most — first letters, hospital bands, a lock of hair, early drawings. The fragments that tell a family’s story.
The form is intentionally restrained. Clean lines, subtle proportions, and a fitted lid that sits with a gentle precision. There are no hinges or hardware to distract from the timber itself. Instead, the focus is on material, joinery, and the way the box feels in the hand.
Each box is made slowly, with close attention to grain continuity and surface finish, so it will age gracefully over decades rather than years. It’s a piece intended to be opened often, handled gently, and eventually passed on.
Like all my work, it’s made here in Northland, by hand, with the intention that it becomes part of your family’s history rather than a single moment in time.
