Getting the proportions right
The size, overhang and leg positions are considered for your room.
Letting the timber speak
I choose the boards for their grain and colour, using the natural colour of the timber rather than stains. The finish can be maintained and repaired over time.

I personally design and build your table, from selecting the boards to the final finish.
The first Vaeda
I first made Vaeda for my sister in law, while she was expecting our children’s first cousin, Vaeda. I built that first table in our single car garage in Melbourne. It has since become a design I return to year after year, and one I still enjoy making.
What I like about it is the balance between its light appearance and solid stance. The bevel beneath the top keeps the edge visually fine, while the splayed legs and cross halving joints give the structure beneath it a character of its own.
