The Athena handmade dining table was born from a client brief requesting elegance and originality. The design was also partly inspired by the clients’ love of the water and cruising the Bay of Islands in their yacht.

A closer look at Athena
A shaped top
After sawing the outline, I refine it by hand with spokeshaves. The timber grain is selected to complement the curves.
An echo beneath
The leg frame follows the character of the tabletop, connecting the upper and lower parts of the design.
Made by me, from start to finish
I personally design and build your table, from selecting the boards to the final finish.
From sketches to timber
Forced to think outside the box, Athena was the result of a vast array of concept sketches. The leg frame echoes the shape of the top, with the curved shapes creating tension with the crisp edges.
After sawing, the tabletop is finessed by hand with spokeshaves, and the grain of the timber is chosen to best suit the curved outline.
