Description
The Athena handmade dining table was born from a client brief requesting elegance and originality. The design was also partly inspired by the client’s love of the water and cruising the Bay of Islands in their yacht.
Forced to think outside the box, the Athena handmade dining table is what resulted from a vast array of concept sketches. The leg frame echoes the shape of the top, with the curved shapes creating tension with the crisp edges.
After sawing, the tabletop is finessed by hand with spokeshaves and the grain of the timber is chosen to best suit the curved outline.
The name Athena, the female god of warfare and wisdom, perfectly suits this strong, yet feminine design.
