The pedestal detail
The intarsia pattern follows the form of the base, flowing and floating on the floor beneath.
A circular gathering place
I like the way a round table brings everyone into the conversation, with no one at the head or tucked away at a corner. I size the top to suit your room and the number of people you would like to seat.
Made by me, from start to finish
I personally design and build your table, from selecting the boards to the final finish.
Dressmaking in timber
Burton began with the extravagant dressmaking of the eighteenth century: the sweep of a gown, its weight and the way it falls towards the floor. I wanted to bring that sense of movement into a table, with a pedestal that has a character of its own.
The intarsia detail is part of that idea. The patterned timber follows the gown like form of the base, finishing just above the floor with a small shadow gap. That space underneath gives the substantial pedestal a lighter, almost floating appearance.
