Kohatu has a has a bold and strong body language whilst still retaining the warmth of craft. Splined mitres and carved inlay bring detail and texture to its simple architectural form.

A closer look at Kohatu
Splined mitres
The table and benches share mitred construction with visible contrasting splines.
Carved texture
Small gouge cuts build up the texture of the darker inlay, with each stroke contributing to the surface.
Made by me, from start to finish
I personally design and build your table, from selecting the boards to the final finish.
A suite considered together
The dining suite is shown as a rendered design study and is available as a first commission. The close up photographs show the splined joinery and carved inlay on a desk I have already made. The table and benches can be sized around your room.
If you have your heart set on a particular timber, we can explore how it could work with Kohatu, all the way to a rich, chocolate coloured locally grown Walnut. I will consider the material alongside the joinery and proportions, then quote for the timber and detailing we agree.
