Description

Kohatu in Maori often refers to a stone with special significance, a monumental landmark. The architectural stature of this suite directly speaks to that metaphor.

The darker inlay is carved with a small gouge, with every individual stroke contributing to the texture as a whole.

The joinery in both table and benches is a splined mitre in Blackwood.

Other timber options are available.

Available as a first commission
The Kohatu suite is shown here as a rendered design study. The design is ready for its first build, and the first client to commission it will receive the original handmade example of this piece. It will be made and refined specifically for its home, with the timber selection, final proportions and finish considered through the making process.

Size: These dining suites are handcrafted  according to your needs.

Pricing: Please get in touch for a quote.

Available Materials: Available in a range of New Zealand and international, sustainably sourced timbers. Pictured here in Blackwood.
