Description
Designed for contemporary spaces, the Faulkner custom coffee table emphasizes airiness and uncluttered aesthetics. Crafted from locally sourced Blackwood, it showcases several hand-joinery techniques.
The top is fixed into the frame with mortise and tenon joints, using a slotted technique which allows the top to expand and contract with the seasons.
Prismatic end frames exhibit bridle joints, creating a subtle yet captivating contrast between the end and long grain in the corners. A bottom rail splits the design in two, with a wedged mortise and tenon joint highlighting the table’s symmetry and balance.
Attention was given to strike a balance with the hand joinery features, ensuring they enhance rather than overpower the minimalist and open design. The result is a coffee table that exudes a touch of craftsmanship, adding just the right amount of sparkle to its sleek and understated presence.
