Inspiration Comes First

This bespoke vanity project was created for a local couple in Kerikeri, inspired by their trip to the islands. They wanted something modern and geometric, yet reminiscent of their fond memories of the Pacific. The result is the Frei vanity.

You may notice that I’ve included this piece with the tables—this design is versatile. The baskets can easily translate into future vanities, pedestal dining tables, sculpture stands, and more. Let your imagination guide you, and let’s discuss how we can blend this concept with your dream project.

I’m excited about this piece because of its unique, architectural nature. Crafted from locally sourced walnut, the baskets are shaped using a steam-bending technique, where the timber is heated with steam to be bent into form. This method creates a piece that is light, intricate, yet incredibly strong. The result speaks for itself, with an intricate play of light filtering through.

The top supports two crystal basins, though these can be customized to suit your preference.

Size: We custom build these handmade vanities or dining tables according to your needs.
