Description

Trestle or refectory dining tables have a rich history dating all the way back to the Middle Ages. The Jasper table embodies and references this lineage all the while being adorned with clean, contemporary lines. Once favored by royalty and nobility, these tables graced castles, churches, and now find their place in modern homes.

Whilst being inspired by the ancient tables of Europe, there is also a hint of Japanese influence that shines through in the clean lines and and uncomplicated tapers of the Jasper.

I love refectory tables for their timeless charm and practicality. The design, with legs set back from the table’s edge, complements booth seating or cozy dining areas perfectly. In our modestly sized dining space, with a bench seat against a wall, the Jasper dining table is our choice to meet the family’s needs.

That being said, the bold leg frame does make a statement, so if you’re seeking a more dramatic centerpiece, I can customize these tables to larger dimensions.

The hallmark of these Jasper handmade wood tables is simple, neat, honest joinery. The large through tenon, lying horizontally underneath the tabletop, is about as strong as a joint can be made.
